| Customer Reviews: FirstClass books stands by their guarantee February 23, 2010 Par5 (Ohio) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I recently ordered a used book for school from Firstclass books. The book cost $78. I did receive it within the correct time frame (7 business days). The exterior of the book I received was completely taped with white tape with the books name and author typed on it. I was very disappointed with this book and emailed Firstclass books. Their delayed response almost caused me to send a very negative review. They did respond and said they would ship me out a new (used) book. I received it yesterday and it looks great. They apologized for the condition of the first book and said it was a mistake. Because of their response I will buy from Firstclass again. Sincerely, Scott (Ohio)

I got the book in good condition. There was a little confusion because the post office destroyed the original packaging and sent it back to the seller and she thought that I didn't get the book, but the post office re-packaged it and continued it on it's way to me. All is well now!
Not for a beginner in finance January 19, 2010 Joe (St. Louis) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a terrible finance book if you are a beginner. I had to take this class for a Major that is not even in my field. I have zero background in this finance. Honestly I spent most of my time googleing concepts and other examples. The questions/problems at the end of the chapter do not following the examples explained in the chapter. Overall I think Gitman did an awful job explaining many concepts. I gave up reading the chapters and went to a few good finance websites to learn the covered chapters. Gitman loves to just through a bunch of useless vocabulary words out there and fails to truly explain concepts. I'm sure this would be a great book if you already had a solid background. Honestly, I would not pay for this book! It's a way over priced door stop and emergency toilet paper for me. PS it makes me sick that Lawrence J. Gitman stole my money by writing such as God awful book!
